It pays tribute to His Excellency Ambassador Jules Harmand, a naval doctor, explorer and French Ambassador to Japan at the turn of the 19th century, and great-great-grandfather of the current Comte Liger-Belair. It is a place of contemplation and meditation, ideal for writing.
